XP is shorthand for "Experience" and represents your record with playing Spades Masters.

You gain XP whenever you play a game and your character level increases as you reach specific experience milestones. Winning earns you more XP than losing, but you will always earn experience when playing a game.

XP is needed in order to progress in the game and unlock locations; locations are locked behind certain level numbers as shown on the location icons.
